Privacy Policy

The short version

Sportdle has no accounts and no logins. Your game progress stays in your browser. The only optional tracking is Google Analytics, which runs only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. If you reject (or ignore) it, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent.

What is stored on your device

Sportdle uses your browser’s localStorage to save game progress, guesses, streaks, and your cookie choice. This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser storage will erase it.

Cookies and Google Analytics

Sportdle uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the games are used (for example, which puzzles are popular and how visitors move around the site) so we can improve them. Google Analytics is loaded only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and its cookies are not created.

When enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<id>) to distinguish visitors and measure usage. It may process information including a truncated/anonymised IP address, device and browser type, approximate location (country/region), and the pages you view. Google acts as our data processor for this; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Google may use this data subject to its own policies — see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Withdrawing consent disables Google Analytics and clears its cookies from this site. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal data.

Network requests

When you play, Sportdle fetches daily puzzle data and player search lists from its own API. These requests do not require personal information. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) may be recorded by our hosting provider (Vercel) as part of normal web infrastructure and abuse prevention (rate limiting).

Third-party services

Sportdle is hosted on Vercel and uses Google Analytics (only with your consent, as described above). Player images and data may be loaded from external public sources. These services have their own privacy policies. Sportdle does not show third-party advertising.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or withdraw consent for analytics. Because Sportdle has no accounts, the main personal data involved is the analytics data described above — you can withdraw consent at any time via “Cookie settings”. Children

Sportdle is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will address it.
