NBA Career Path — Guess the player from their team history

NBA Career Path reveals a NBA player's team history one stint at a time. The first and last stops are shown by default; each wrong guess uncovers one more step in between.

Career Path is the mode for fans who follow transfers, trades, and signings. A path like Cleveland → Miami → Cleveland → Lakers is often enough on its own if you remember the era. When you need more help, each miss fills in another team on the timeline.

Repeat stints are preserved, so a player who returned to a former team will show both entries in order — a detail that separates Career Path from simpler roster-based guessing games. Short stints, loans and mid-season moves are included to keep long-career players challenging.

Solve today's NBA Career Path to keep your streak alive. Unlimited rounds are available from the same page once you've finished the daily.

Frequently asked questions

How does NBA Career Path work?
You see a timeline of the player's team history, with only the first and last stops visible. Each wrong guess reveals one more team in between. Guess the player in as few attempts as possible.
Are loan spells and short stints included?
Yes — Career Path uses the full career path including loans, short-term deals, and repeat stints, preserved in chronological order.
What if a player only played for one team?
Single-team careers are usually excluded from Career Path because they give away the answer immediately. The pool focuses on players with at least a handful of stops.
Does Career Path share a streak with other modes?
Completing it extends your overall Sportdle daily streak, and Career Path tracks its own mode-specific streak as well.
Is NBA Career Path like Wordle?
It uses the same idea as Wordle — a once-a-day puzzle with green/red feedback on each guess — but instead of guessing a word you guess a NBA player from clues. Sportdle is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with Wordle or The New York Times. NBA Career Path is one of several daily Sportdle modes.
