Challenge a friend: pick the team they'll have to guess in this mode - they get a link, with the answer kept hidden.

Premier League Team - guess the football club from clues, Wordle-style

Premier League Team flips the usual Sportdle formula: instead of a player, you guess a Premier League club. Every guess returns a row of clues - city, founded year, league titles and stadium capacity - colour-coded so you can close in on the hidden club.

Green cells mean an exact match, red means a miss, and arrows on the numeric clues tell you whether the hidden club's value is higher or lower than your guess - the same feedback loop Wordle players already know. Because the pool is every Premier League club, sharp fans can often solve it in two or three guesses.

Team mode is a quicker, lighter puzzle than the player-based modes - a good warm-up before Premier League Classic, or an easy way in for someone who knows the clubs better than the players.

A new club is chosen every day, and solving it keeps your Sportdle daily streak alive alongside the other Premier League modes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I play Premier League Team?
Search for any Premier League club. Each guess returns a row of clues - city, founded year, league titles and stadium capacity - compared with the hidden answer. Green = correct, red = wrong, arrows = higher or lower. Keep guessing until you find the club.
Which clubs can be the answer?
Every current Premier League club is in the pool, so the answer is always a club you know. That makes Team one of the friendlier Sportdle modes for casual fans.
Is it the same answer as Premier League Classic?
No - Team picks its own daily answer, and it's a club rather than a player. The two modes run side by side and both feed your Sportdle streak.
When does the daily Premier League Team puzzle reset?
A new club is chosen every day at midnight in the league's home timezone. Your result and streak are saved locally in your browser.
Is Premier League Team like Wordle?
It uses the same idea as Wordle - a once-a-day puzzle with green/red feedback on each guess - but instead of guessing a word you guess a Premier League player from clues. Some players also call it the Football Wordle. Sportdle is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with Wordle or The New York Times. Premier League Team is one of several daily Sportdle modes.
